Hi, my name is Lorrie Bahrenburg, I am married to Southern Low Country Area Coordinator, Ken Bahrenburg, we’ve been married for 48 years. I am a mother of three, grandmother to 15. Ken and I are both retired and we moved to Walterboro, SC almost 8 years ago.
Up north, once all my children were in school, I started a career as a legal Secretary. Over the years I worked for private firms specializing in litigation, family law and real estate. I worked my way up from a part time secretary to a legal secretary, to a legal assistant then left private practice and worked for a corporate law group where I was titled legal administrator.
My husband and I love riding on our motorcycle, it’s a love we share with our son, our daughter and our 2 son-in-laws, all of whom are ABATE members.
As a member of Ace Basin ABATE I have been in charge of membership, products, and for 3 years I’ve been chairperson for their toy drive for children of Colleton County.
I believe my experience from my career has taught me to be very organized, manage problems, work with people. I feel these skills will serve me well working with SC ABATE. I try to be very organized and work well with others to achieve a common goal.
I believe ABATE is a very important organization and hope to be able to work towards reaching younger riders who don’t really understand that their rights are not guaranteed but are worth fighting for; and work closely with current ABATE members to keep them involved and educated.
